METROPLEX PEDIATRICS FAQ

As your child grows, it is your responsibility as a parent to make sure they stay healthy and don’t develop any issues that may hinder their progress. At Metroplex Pediatrics, we encourage parents to get diagnostic, health, and fitness related analysis that helps their children take the right steps towards growth and development.

You may have some concerns regarding your child’s health, fitness, and other issues. This is why we are offering some advice as Board Certified Pediatricians on the common questions you have regarding pediatrics in general and our service. Please let us know if you have any more questions regarding the health and fitness of your child.

Q. How Can Regular Visits to a Pediatrician Help My Child?

Ensuring that your child is healthy, fit, and developing well both physical and mentally is the responsibility of every parent. A pediatrician allows you to know more about your child’s health that can be essential for their proper development. By visiting a pediatrician regularly, your child’s mental and physical health can significantly improve, while also ensuring that they are treated properly during sickness. Regular visits to a pediatrician can help you in establishing the right approach to parenthood on which your children grow up to become healthy and happy individuals.

Q. What Services Does Metroplex Pediatrics PA Offer?

Our services range from diagnosis and laboratory analysis to health and fitness tests in a fun and caring environment. Whether your child is sick, needs tips on staying healthy, or wants to develop physically to pursue sports, we can help them in many ways.

Q. Can I Bring My Teenager to Your Healthcare Center?

Yes you are encouraged to bring children who are in their teen years to our office. Your child as a teenager is currently going through puberty, hormonal imbalance, and physical and psychological changes. If your child does not receive the right amount of attention from you, he/ she may develop physical and mental issues that can have long term impact.

Hence, it is important during these years that your child is maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle while overcoming issues most teens today deal with. Our pediatricians specialize in helping teenagers set a strong base on which they become successful adults. We provide consultation, laboratory diagnosis, and health tests that help your teen keep the right mindset in such important years of life.

Q. What Is the Age Limit of Children You See?

We specialize in children of all ages from birth to 18 years of age. Our holistic approach to physical and neural development in children and providing parenting resource makes us one of the most recognized pediatric services in Texas. Q. What Is Your Approach to Child Development?

Metroplex Pediatrics PA strives to lead by example when it comes to helping children take the right steps towards growth. Our pediatricians observe a holistic approach to improving health and fitness in children. Children with sickness are diagnosed and treatments are offered that encompass nutrition, exercise, and medication.

We also provide a fun and interactive platform where children of all ages can be analyzed while staying engaged. We then present recommendations and tips on helping your child become good in learning, reading, thinking, sports, and fitness. Our approach enables us to cater to the specific needs of your child and help them grow the proper way.

Q. When Can I Bring My Child for Consultation and Checkup?

We are available from Monday through Friday between Xam and Xpm. You can also visit us during weekends from xam to xpm for urgent visit, regular checkup, and/ or health analysis. However, if your child is sick and you need to make an urgent visit, you can call us at our office and either a nurse or pediatrician will call you back. Please listen carefully when you receive the call and evaluate the available options that are better for your children.

Why Do I Have to Show My Insurance Card During Each Visit?

It is a requirement by the insurance company that we ask you to present a healthcare insurance card during each visit. While it may seem redundant to you, doing so helps us ensure compliance with the regulatory authorities.

Q. How Do I Forward My Child’s Medical Records to a New Doctor?

Whether you are looking for a second opinion or relocating to a new place, your child’s medical records can be transferred once the HIPPA authorization has been signed. To sign the HIPPA authorization, your child has to be at least 13 years of age or older. You may wish to collect the HIPPA release from our office, or alternately we can mail or fax it to you. Once we have received the signed form, we will email it to the new doctor.

Note: The person collecting the medical records of your child (13 years of age or older) must present a written release from the child, and must verify their identification at the time of collection. Remember that these policies are enforceable by the law and are established to protect national privacy.

I’m Traveling with My Child Soon. Can I Take Care of the Shots and Other Medical Aspects of the Trip with Your Pediatricians?

It is advisable to consult with our pediatricians before you travel. Once we have reviewed the itinerary, we can make appropriate recommendations for precautions like vaccinations, malaria prophylaxis, and so on. However, there are few vaccines, like the yellow fever vaccine, that should be acquired at the health department. In this case, we can offer advice and recommendations on where and when to go for the medical precautions.

Q. What Is Your Cancellation Policy?

If you need to cancel a scheduled diagnosis or analysis, please call us at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. On the other hand, if you wish to cancel an urgent sick visit, then call us four hours prior to the appointment.
